US Airways makes bankruptcy filing

Isn't Capitalism great! Herb Kelleher shook the airline industry years ago by taunting the big carriers with a marketing model designed to compete with the bus lines. And it's worked. And he is still making money during and after 9/11. Are we supposed to be sad for US Airways? Heck no! Southwest is making money hand-over-fist. New airlines like Jet Blue are taking off. United and Delta are scrambling to copy the Southwest model. Even US Airways is making this bankruptcy move to position themselves to become a discount carrier. Herb Kelleher proves capitalism works if we take our minds out of the conventional wisdom lock-box.
